I-Jiang was born to the Chi-Ben tribe 知本部落 of Puyuma near the hot springs resort area outside of Taidong 台東, near the southern end of the east coast of Taiwan.At the age of 29, I-Jiang abandoned a seven-year career in print advertising after meeting Huang Senyi 黃森義, an accomplished bronze sculptor who took on I-Jiang as his apprentice and taught him the techniques of bronze casting. Driven by a strong will to express his inner feelings, I-Jiang was soon able to use this new medium to express his sense of the world as a Taiwan's indigenous. Over the last few years I-Jiang has become recognized for his unique ability to express Taiwan's indigenous myths through bronze sculpture.

銅漢子工作室
1999年成立於桃園縣觀音鄉，至今整整11年工作室的製成有別一般銅雕藝術家，個人除了負責純創作，身邊還有一位授教於我甲級鑄造技術的黃師父，所以作品從泥塑到完成鑄銅成品全部不假他人之手，從無到有，一貫作業。 當然能夠認識彼此是難得的緣份，感謝指教 。http://ijiang.blogspot.com/2010/11/blog-post.html
CONCEPT OF CREATION
"Never bewitched by others but following my own inspiration."
The artist finds the subjects of his works in the myths and lives of the indigenous people of Taiwan. He embraces the environment and culture in which he grew up and tries to creatively present this world through his art."I hope, through my art, non-indigenous friends would be able to better understand indigenous culture and share my memories of this land. I want to lead people to a simple appreciation of the romance and sensuality of indigenous people."
